WASHINGTON -- The Atlantic 10 Conference recognized Richmond sophomore attacker Lucas Littlejohn as the Atlantic 10 Under Armour Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, while Saint Joseph's junior goalkeeper Tommy Gross was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season. After defeating No. 16 UMass, High Point freshman attacker Carson Robins was selected as the Rookie of the Week. The awards, announced Monday are for games played between March 31 - April 6.
Littlejohn recorded his third consecutive game and fourth of the season with five or more points, scoring five goals and adding an assist in No. 9 Richmond's 15-7 win over Hobart on the road Saturday. The Courtice, Ontario native also led the Spiders in ground balls, picking up a career-high six while also adding a caused turnover. The sophomore currently leads the team with 29 goals and is tied for second in assists with 13, totaling 42 points for the season. With an average of 3.82 points per game, he ranks second in the A-10. This is Littlejohn's second weekly honor of the season, also earning the award on February 17.
Gross allowed just three goals in the win over St. Bonaventure, earning his seventh win of the season with 12 saves and a .800 save percentage, while adding a ground ball in the win. The Silver Spring, Md. native notched his sixth game of the season with at least 10 saves. Gross has now been named the Defensive Player of the Week four times this season, the most in the conference.
Robins scored a season-high three goals and three assists to lead the team with six points in High Point's upset win of No. 16 Massachusetts. The Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada native scored on all three shots he took and added a groundball.
